I bought Charlotte's "5.55" CD album and have given it a good listen to this afternoon.
It is very good and is a real trip through "Europop ballads come good" meets "a sunny afternoon of easy listening". Some of the programmed drum patterns take you straight back to JJ's "Euroman" album.
I am very pleased I have managed to get hold of this.
Highlight tracks so far are :
"5.55", "The Operation" and "Jamais".

I love 'The Songs That We Sing'. A nod to her old old man's 'Bonnie And Clyde'.

Loving her work here. Not enough pictures of her on the sleeve though.Arthur Streeb-Greebling wrote:Good innit.PaulinLondon wrote:I bought Charlotte's "5.55" CD album and have given it a good listen to this afternoon.

That's a tricky one to answer because on her new album, she has called upon the resources of Jarvis Cocker and Air so there is more of a modern Euro feel to it.Ian9331 wrote:In about 1986 I bought the Serge / Charlotte single:- 'Charlotte Forever'. Top song at the time... not sure how it would sound now..... If anyone has heard it... how does it compare to her latest material...?

So, in essence - what would you recommend as a good starting point for a Serge album? Or..... is anyone sufficiently interested in him to bother working a mix CD out for yours truly?? I can in return offer to collate a mix tape (sadly no CD burning facilities here at Grinder Towers) of, let say.... decent hammond organ jazz stuff??
Anyone? *AHEM* Arthur.....?

If Dave was to use a Hammond L100 for just one more gig I'd die content.
