Having now compared Birmingham Institute with Nottingham Rock City, I'll be going to see Killing Joke at Rock City. Great venue. 8)

Not long to go now for Killing Joke, er...... just 4 months, looking forward to it more than The Stranglers ‘March’ tour but I have seen em 68 times and Killing Joke only 2 times so deffo need/want to see em more. Might do Nottingham’s Rock City too the night before Leeds and Manchester too.

I saw Idles at Heaven in London earlier this year. A very exciting live outfit. Only problem is, all their fans seem to be about 6ft 6.

Mr Gizz, NMA, what a fucking great band, just started to listen to em again [one of my Fave songs at the mo - Ambition] and one of my fave bands back in the 80’s, great gigs and all that clog dancing and creating human pyramids, very exciting gigs, loved their first 3 or 4 albums [Stuart Morrow, what a top bass player, influenced by JJ, and he actually supported The Stranglers in the band he was in, Loud] saw NMA many times, last gig being a free gig on the Headrow outside the Leeds Art Gallery.
Also I used to rehearse with my band in the same place as them and one day they were auditioning for a second/touring guitar player, if I had been a bit more confident back then and pushed myself I coulda auditioned for the job, but unfortunately didn’t, there was quite a long queue of guitar players waiting to do their bit too. I think it was then when Ricky Warwick got the gig but that coulda been earlier and somebody else got it.
I went back into our rehearsal room and started playing 51st State.

And a faith as hard as steel and as sharp as any pain”

“Gets pictures in the papers smiling oh so good
While she lies in bed with racing dreams hot as blood
Because love will make you happy and love will keep you warm
And love will build a cushion to keep you safe from harm
But hate will drive you onwards, hate will drive you upwards
Till you can get back all the bastards
Who ever tried to put you down”

IDLES, was it a gud un?
I watched them on TV the other night on Later With Jools and it was probably the most exciting, energetic, performance I’ve seen on there since that American band, ‘At The Drive In’?......Scissor summat....One Armed Scissor?
A truly Marvellous noise.
