Last couple of week ive seen China Crisis in St.Helens, Sarah Jarosz in Bury and last night Damned in Manchester...

The Damned were top drawer last night but one noticible thing was that the Damned audience is very tame compared to a Strangs one...

Up next ive got the Levellers and China Crisis both in Liverpool in December...

You want to try a Slaves gig mate.....I was in the mosh pit for a while before they came on and I soon realised the place was rammed and everyone was thirty years younger.

I escaped to the periphery where all the other old people were :smt003

Very good Vibrators gig last night at The Dublin Castle. Went with an old mate of mine who was chuffed to bits that we were going. Packed venue and quite an aggressive crowd which made for an interesting evening.

Red Hot Chili Peppers tonight with my bruv. Should be interesting.

I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Manchester on Wednesday.
They were superb. A great sound for what is basically drum, bass and voice. Guitar was quite low in the mix and the keyboard was low too playing chords to fill the sound out a touch.

Did you see the support band, Babymetal?

I know a guy who went to see them and left the gig after 4 songs from RHCP.

Didn't see the support and missed first ten minutes of Chilis as Arena seems to start early these days. I suppose if you know the Chilis from years back it's not the same these days - reminds me of another band! - however I first saw them in 2003 so they were slowing down then. They great musicians, it's effortless for them.

Superb gig last night at the O2 in London. I was pleasantly surprised.

And the PG was only £6 a glass !

Just back into barracks from a great two hour set by the Oxley-Meier Guitar Project.

Two guitarists (one English/one from Brazil).

A great blend of blues, trippy jazz but making their guitars come to the fore with the aid of a rack of effects pedals at their feet; a bank to each of them. When they are on stage, they have a choice of nine electro acoustic guitars behind them.

No drummer and no bass but a great wall of sound.

For each song, one or both of them would say, "I will use that one for this song".

The guitar(s) then get tuned up and off we go for another trip.

Loved it.
