Stuck on the Who 30 years DVD this morning and managed to get to the end of it. Anyone got this? What`s with the 1989 American gig at the end? Townshend is playing accoustic geetar but there`s his wild electric riffs coming out of the PA :wtf?: . I assume they used backing tracks. Looks piss poor and plain weird. I guess it musta seemed like a good idea at the time?!

Wan't this something to do with his hearing being fucked, and having to play acoustic at gigs?

I saw them at Brum NEC in 1989 and yes Townshend was playing acoustic guitar and they had some other guy playing electric guitar(can't remember his name).It was still a great gig.
