God, haven't seen JCC since the late 80s (I think) back in Cheltenham ! Remember deciding to go see him rather than the Smiths who were playing at the old Gloucester Leisure centre (crap acoustics) on the same night.theraven1979 wrote:3. John Cooper Clarke: Talking + poems.
Thought I'd be able to catch the Smiths again as they were bound to tour again. Turned out it was one of the last performances before they split ! Still, all was not lost, as they went off stage early after some knob got on stage and clocked Morrissey !

:D Thought it was time to re-establish myself as a poet.
‘Central Line’
I saw John Cooper Clarke on the escalator,
He was going down - I was going up with me mater
Big hair and glasses and a craggy facer
Dressed in black and white like a wine waiter
And a big ‘stuck-on’ nose like Mister Potater
A split second, I took in all that data
And I didn’t have the chance to say: see you later...
That was John Cooper Clarke on that escalator.
