FFS another musical genius has gone.
Imho along with John Barry and Lalo Schifrin he was the finest composer of film soundtracks.
His soundtrack to Fistful Of Dollars, The Good Bad And The Ugly etc was the 2nd album I bought after Black & White in 1978.
RIP.

The Ecstasy of Gold is among one of my many faves of his, just an absolutely stunningly beautiful piece of music.

Re: Ennio Morricone RIP
I was lucky enough to get to see him Dublin Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Conducting a cast of 200 — evenly split between the Orchestra Roma Sinfonietta and the Dublin Gospel Choir. His death, at 91, robs the world of the greatest ever movie composer.

Re: Ennio Morricone RIP
Sad news.
Although, to be honest, I couldn't have told you if he was still going or not.
Loved the Spag Western stuff.

Nice one. I desperately wanted to go to see him in London a few years ago but sadly missed it, really wish I had gone.mickinblack wrote: ↑07 Jul 2020, 09:13 I was lucky enough to get to see him Dublin Royal Hospital Kilmainham. He certainly was the ‘Maestro’
