How do you discover new bands?

Post by jason »

I just wondered how you all discover decent new bands. I listen to 6 Music but that's about it. I've checked out some bands some of you have recommended too like Girls Names. Any tips?

I seem to remember Smash Hits used to be rather good for that sort of thing.
...I'm making lists of all the people I love,
and all the cunts that should fuck off...

Usually on friend recommendations (Girls Names, Public Service Broadcast, etc...) occasional TV/Radio listening - but recently the You-Tube list beside what you are watching can open the door to some cool stuff (Pretty Vicious, Bohicas...) Don't think I would have come across either band otherwise.
Allow me to re-arrange your face, sometimes I'd really like to get to know you better

Usually by recommendations from friends or because they support a band I've gone to see.

I've discovered bands that are new to me by accident on Youtube , other than that I haven't a clue . I say new to me .....sometimes they are ancient old punk bands I missed first time around , or foreign one's I've not bothered with before .

X Factor and Britain's Got Talent of course.
Think I'll go for a stroll in the trees.
