George Michael RIP
Funny, Rick Parfitt gets a mention round here but not George Michael.
Never been a fan of his music but undeniably a great talent.
Additionally, he made so much money for Epic records that allowed them to plough money into bands like The Stranglers!
Wasn't it Hugh who called Shirley Bassey "Aunty Shirley" cos she made so much for United Artists.
I think there are many who can thank Uncle Georgie too!

I quite liked some of his stuff.
Re: George Michael RIP
Praying for time was a great song. He had a great voice.

Re: George Michael RIP
never in to the music but he was very gifted and obviously a wonderful person by all accounts another very sad loss this year
Re: George Michael RIP
I have a collection of great songs by artists that I otherwise don't follow.jason wrote:Praying for time was a great song. He had a great voice.
That song is in the Top 10.
The darkest lyrics he ever wrote.
But, then again, 'Closer' by Joy Division was one of his favourite albums.

Sad news but I can't pretend.I loathed his voice and music.Wham and his solo stuff represents all i hate in music. His voice didn't touch my heart. He seemed a nice bloke though
and generous by all accounts. But it seems everyone is now saying how they loved him.R.I.P

very talented lyricist & vocalist imo. Not all of his material was my thing, but I did like a fair amount of it. Can't believe whatever has happened to him has happened.

Re: George Michael RIP
Wham did some great pop hits. Not massively into that stuff but the pop world would've been a boring place without him.

New reports coming out that it wasn't a heart attack that killed George Michael - but a bug...

Allow me to re-arrange your face, sometimes I'd really like to get to know you better
Re: George Michael RIP
I think it's highly likely he died of something else that brought on heart failure? It's sad but I just hated his voice and music, and no one had spoken about him for a long timeMULLY wrote:New reports coming out that it wasn't a heart attack that killed George Michael - but a bug...

It's the "Everybody Loves You when your Dead" scenario? Sorry to be cynical.
