Johnny Sox bassist Jan "Janne Knuda" Knutsson ...

"In the mid ´70s when all Swedish artists/bands lyrics always was 100% political correct, Kal P. Dal & his backing band Pågarna arrived with raw retro rock & nonsense lyrics sunged in our Southern drawl - "skånska". Jan "Janne Knuda" Knutsson - one of the guitarists in his backing band Pågarna - had been in Hugh Cornwell's band Johnny Sox, while Cornwell studied in Lund. When Hugh moved back to UK, Knutsson followed, but left before the band became The Guildford Stranglers.
Kal P. Dal's first album Till mossan! was released in 1977 & was seen as some kind of Swede New Wave/Pub rock. It all changed when the next album was released. The Swedish rockers - raggare - made Kal P. Dal their fav artist. There was a great conflict between "raggarna" and the punk movement. As a young punk myself, I got hit on the head by raggare several times ...
Kal P. Dal died 1985. Some members from Pågarna nowadays plays as Pedalens Pågar."
Quite a few Kal P. Dal vids on YouTube with Knuda on bass

"Pedal Pågar is a Swedish rock band from Skåne. The band was previously known as Fellows, and was backing band to Kal P. Dal . After his death, however, they have continued to play under the name Pedal progress. The group has had some line-up changes over the years. Bassist Janne Knuda started in the 70s in Lund together with Hugh Cornwell Johnny Sox, who later became The Stranglers . After a year in England became homesick too great and he returned to Lund where he again met Kal P. Dal and they began planning to start a band; the group got its name in 1975."

"After a year, Hasse Wärmling grew impatient that Cornwell´s
new band wasn't going anywhere fast enough, so he moved back to Sweden.
Back home, Hasse joined the group Kal P Dal which was quite well-known in Sweden. How well
known? Well, in Sweden, railway trains have names, and in 2000, the authorities christened one
train Kal P Dal in honour of this rock-group!"
