Interview with Ruts DC

Post by adriana »

Hi,

Some of you may be interested in a brief interview that I recently did with Segs and Ruffy of Ruts DC for the Aural Sculptors site. Genuinely nice guys and well up for the tour in March. If you have never seen them now is your chance... a piece of the real UK punk scene of the late '70's. Miss them at your peril!

Cheers,

Adrian.

Thanks Adrian.

When is someone going to do a proper interview with Leigh Heggarty?
I know Adrian linked to his blog some years ago but it's time he got to talk about all the stuff he's been doing since the 1980's.
I mean he's been working with Segs and Dave since 2007 and he's still treated like 'the new boy'....

He's a good guy, he was manning the Ruts stall at Rebellion two years ago.
Think I'll go for a stroll in the trees.

Decent of Ruffy to give a nod to Iggy's latest, his best since the mid-70's, Bowie-produced LUST FOR LIFE.

Good interview, thanks for sharing.

I have mer Leigh before a Stranglers gig in Guildford a couple of years ago.

So what other Rut albums are worthwhile listening to?.

All of them.
But 'Rhythm Collision' (1982) and 'Rhythm Collision Volume 2' (2013) will only be of interest if, like me, you love reggae. They are entirely reggae.

The underrated 'Animal Now' (1981) is one of my favourites but it's quite dark and gloomy having been recorded shortly after Malcolm Owen's death. They are re-introducing some songs from that album into the live set since they're doing 'rock' again.
