The Damned at The Brook, Southampton

Post by Cola Can »

From the sublime to the ridiculous. Royal Albert Hall one minute, The Brook the next. For anyone that hasn't been here before it is a great, small venue. Hugh has played here a few times but I don't believe the Stranglers ever have, although JJ did a solo thing a while back.

If you've see the Damned you know what you are getting. Great night, great mosh pit - never sweated so much in my life!

Most surreal moment of the evening was between the support band and the Damned the first interlude song was Ugly and then a few songs later Into The Fire - where the hell did that come from?

He fits in well. He apparently cycled from Brighton to join them onstage at the Isle Of Wight Festival on Saturday.

Thanks for the review. The Brooks been on my venue list to visit in the last few years. Like Bag Lady i nearly went, sadly wrong day for me. The Trumpet player is called Chris Cool, or Gimdey Fidiesh as the band calls him.

I went to the Brook and the albert hall and the Brook was by far the best. Always a great atmosphere.
