Always had Squeeze down as a singles band (a bit like Madness) - I realise I've probably pissed a lot of people off there. But gimme some none singles Squeeze tracks that are good.

Also, wtf is Hourglass about? weird old song that one.

I reckon pretty much every track on the first three albums that weren't released as singles could have been.

But after that it gets more difficult.

Must confess I don't know their albums either. Although I quite liked the singles back in the day I only ever bought one. My first Squeeze gig was five years ago and I was quite impressed by them. Enough to make a second visit. I decided to buy the new album just out of interest and familiarise myself with the songs for this tour. Worth a listen IMHO.

"East Side Story" (from 1981) remains their masterpiece - they never managed to top that collection of songs. When you listen to that album comparisons with Ray Davies and Lennon & McCartney are fair enough. I think Paul Carrack added something to the mix and when he left Glenn Tilbrook dominated a bit too much but I'm sure they'll always be a great live act.

You're not the first to say that actually. Maybe I should revert to blue......?

I feel a poll coming on 8)
My vote: Red!

Shouldn't it be terracotta? I prefer it to the blue anyway.

Ta for the review, enjoyed reading that, JCC is a genius and most of Squeeze's singles are ace... what I've heard of latest stuff, seems to me a bit drab tbh.
Think I'll go for a stroll in the trees.
