Scary songs
Hosannahs from the basement of hell. Very disturbing indeed. Whats your most disturbing song in your collection? And dont say Mad Hatter!
Re: Scary songs
I forgot say it's by Killing Joke.

Re: Scary songs
Not so much shit-your-pants-scary but "Window Shopping For a Crown of Thorns" by Teardrop Explodes always unnerves me.

'In the Shadows' is quite atmospheric, I was listening to it recently well after midnight and thought to myself then glad I don't have to go outside right now

Re: Scary songs
One song that always 'got' me was The Beatles' 'Blue Jay Way' and I still love it. I believe it's about Charles Manson's mob murdering Sharon Tate, though the lyrics don't give away much.
The Crass mention is excellent too, plus the Pistols, while 'In The Shadows' was one of the first to appeal in this sort of way to me. Half of Nosferatu is spooky man.

Think I'll go for a stroll in the trees.

Re: Scary songs
Speaking of Manson, on the BBC's Rock & Roll Years they had footage of the case backed by Marsha Hunt's version of Guilded Splinters, it was really quite terrifying.

Re: Scary songs
There's a few tracks off The Damned's Black Album that you wouldn't want to listen to on your own at 3am - Plus the album they recorded it in was haunted as well - creepy vibe to the whole thing. Love it though

Omen theme, I don't think I've heard a scarier piece of music, although the translation of the Latin words reveals that the words are a bit too over the top to be taken seriously.

Pretty much anything by Diamanda Galas is creepy, with Sait Of The Pit
being a particular Halloween faviourite soundtrack of mine.
