Siousixe and the Banchees
This is the next punk band i am starting to get an interest in. So far i only have two albums the greatest hits, and i bought "Kaleidascope" yesterday. Its a good album certain basslines remind me of "Do the european" from JJ's "Euroman commeth".
What albums do you rate on here?
Last night i listend to "The peep show" on you tube and was very impressed with it,sort of sounds like Elastica or they sound like them?, and i've also heard "The Scream" also on you tube. Im aware she has made 11 albums with the banchees. Which ones do you rate?

Tinderbox is my fav.
Re: Siousixe and the Banchees
I can't listen to half of 'The Scream' or 'Join Hands' anymore. But 'Kaleidoscope' and onwards all get regular plays.
'A Kiss In The Dreamhouse' has always been my favourite album and I think 'Hyæna' is under-rated, especially "Take Me Back" that has some great keyboards.
But my favourite tracks would have to be 'Fireworks' and 'Song From The Edge Of The World' (the 7" not the terrible remix) which both happen to be non-album singles.

Kaleidascope, Peep Show and Juju are probably my favourites but I also like A Kiss In The Dreamhouse and I think Superstition is very underrated.
I would recommend starting with the singles compilations Once Upon A Time and Twice Upon A Time, especially as there were some classic non-album singles as already mentioned.

At first I thought it was sincere too, until the very last line...

I thought the just kidding line was a reference to the better than you deserve bit.
Competent and enthusiastic reads like faint praise or another way of saying workmanlike and dull, 'nowhere else to go' might be true of a lot of bands who've played together for years.
Quite cryptic all in all.

Re: Siousixe and the Banchees
i very much doubt that severin was doing any form of tribute to her - there is a vast amount of animosity between them since they split
As for the records - Kaliedascope, JUJU & Kiss in the dream house & peepshow are classics - espescially the latter painted bird is a brilliant song - i would personally avoid The scream & Join Hands as while they are essential they are not very good imo - also live they were lacklustre her voice had 'issues' a fair few time i saw her
