New Bowie Single/Album

Post by theraven1979 »

Great news but the new track is alright - A lot of people seem to be making out it's a classic or something.

There's a lot of hoo-ha going down on various forums regarding the proposed artwork. I'm not too keen on it myself, seems like something that someone could have knocked up in MS Paint in a couple of minutes. I'm very much hoping it's NOT the cover!

The Heroes cover?

It's pretty bizarre.

Correct. By no means a classic but I think compared to his last few albums it's a bit of a breath of fresh air. Maybe his Norfolk Coast :?:
Shove it up yer bollocks then!

Not one of his best singles but his last 2 albums HEATHEN and REALITY were a real return to form rather like the last couple of Stranglers albums have been. Tony Visconti usually gets the best out of him. All this has been very clever marketing no pre-promotion no leaks and suddenly all happening on the day the song actually comes out on his 66th birthday. Although not a great song it could well give Bowie his first number one hit in 30 years (excluding the Jagger duet)..

Whoah, Visconti's back on board? Haven't tracked Bow for awhile, but I'm all in.

Didn't Visconti produce the last 2 Bowie albums?

IMO Visconti saves this song - It's really not up to much but Visconti's technique of bringing the vocals to the front on the mix and still somehow managing to make the whole thing just right make it interesting.

Really like both the song and the vid - love that cold war Berlin era of Bowie - Low is his best album imho. This sort of reflects on that period. Class.

Glad you like it but I think this is a million miles away from Low. It's not harsh/cold enough. I guess it's too early to call until the album is out.

I quite like it. I haven't got any of his albums but I do remember my sister playing Low years and years ago and it sounded really good.

Every album from Space Oddity to Scary Monsters has essential stuff on it.
