ructions in the big country camp

Re: ructions in the big country camp
well, thats mike peters out of the band now.theres a statement on the big country site in which bruce and mark thank Jamie, derek, tony, mike and stuart adamsons estate for the last 3 years and that mike and the band are now parting ways.they will carry on as a 4 piece.nothing official yet from peters.strange, and a right bummer.saw them in Dunfermline 3 weeks ago and they were superb.mike peters is the best frontman they could have got and this is a bit disappointing and mysterious.

That's a shame. I saw them in Canada this summer and they genuinely seemed to be enjoying performing together!!!
Re: ructions in the big country camp
Can't see it working without a main vocalist rumors are Bruce is going to do that!? Don't think I will be bothering again which is a shame

Re: ructions in the big country camp
First time they reformed I remember seeing them without Mike and with Tony on vocals and he did a great job of it - I rather enjoyed it - If *somehow?!* they got Tony back again I'd be up for seeing em but can't see it working any other way.

I didn't know that yeah that would be good to see. Trouble is they say they say they are reverting to a 4 piece which is currently Bruce, Jamie (Bruce's son), Derek (Forbes) on Bass and Mark on Drums. No obvious lead vocalist but never say never I guess...

Can't see it working without a lead vocal, but will keep tabs on what's happening.....
Re: ructions in the big country camp
they have 4 Scottish gigs lined up at the end of December(im going to see them in Aberdeen)and a load of shows for next year.going to be interesting to see who does vocals and what they are like without peters.i cant see them being as good, but it should still be pretty entertaining.speaking of mike peters,he has a tour next year playing the alarms declaration album for its 30th anniversary.going to Aberdeen for that one too.

Or not. Turns out they actually played on Friday March 21st - I presumed it was the Friday of the Easter festival because it was in the festival brochure. Having a converstion on Saturday night it turns out it was actually a couple of weeks ago. Ah well, there's £22 saved.droopsnoot wrote:Playing on Good Friday night at the Nantwich Jazz and Blues Festival.
