Re: the cult, mission & killing joke
No Scottish date, but would probably have been the SECC, so I wouldn't have gone anyway.
Any idea of ticket prices?? I'll guess £40-60'ish & the usual robbery fees.

Secunded.
Though the Gary Numan tour mentioned on the same page sounds interesting

Good line up but the venue's would make it a meh from me. As said, no dates North of the Border anyway.Toiler On The Sea wrote:No Scottish date, but would probably have been the SECC, so I wouldn't have gone anyway.

I'd probably have left before the Cult came on, I've seen enough of Astbury's poor Morrison impersonation to last a lifetime, which is a shame for BD. "Caught in a moment" as someone once said.
Wouldnae have minded seeing Hussey though, & the new less shouty Joke stuff sounds like a return to form.

It's an OMK line up, but the joke opening for the far inferior Cult and MIsh is a Joke really. I saw both the cult and mish individually headlining wembley early 1990's back in me teens, retrospectively both average and commercial bands that just ain't a patch on killing joke and never will be. Kinda ironic too that I recall Jaz was slagging The Cult off around the time Night Time was released saying they were posers and shit basically, at some point not far wrong, though they had a few moments, the mish probalably even less if I'm honest

The money offered was too good to resist, I heard.

Re: the cult, mission & killing joke
Much as I think Killing Joke are the better band I have nothing against the other two. There's a fair few 'guilty pleasures' in thier respective back catalogues and I'm reliably informed that The Cult outsell Killing Joke by about 10 units to 1. So, they've obviously got a lot of fans (and a new album).
But it's strange that the The Mission should be higher on the bill when they have no new material. Thier last album with actual new stuff was back in '07.
I suppose if you like all three bands then £35 is about normal for a ticket these days.
But I'm not going to pay it.

seems as though they all know each other pretty well -
Wayne Hussey: “It’ll be great. We played a festival show in Belgium with The Cult back in October last year and it was really lovely to see Ian and Billy again. It had been many years since I’d seen either of them but we sat down and had a chat and it was
like no time had passed at all. We’d gone our separate ways over the years and traveled different roads but I always think of Ian and Billy as brothers in arms, kindred spirits, and of course Craig also played with The Cult for a few years so the ties between the two bands always remained intact. I’m looking forward to hearing ‘Sanctuary’ every night. And it’ll be great to have Killing Joke along too. I’ve been a long time admirer of Jaz and his cohorts. I was fortunate enough to be able to work with Jaz in the studio on a string arrangement he orchestrated and conducted for a Mission album a few years back and he is a huge personality. A baton in one hand and a bottle of brandy in the other. It’ll be good to see him again
