Pil were in Toronto a couple of weeks ago and I went to see them.
The venue was changed at the last moment from the large Guvernment to the Phoenix. We only found out when we drove up (in a thunder storm) to a surprisingly quiet parking lot near the Guvernment.
Pil was the only band on the bill so we were glad (but wet and cranky) that we got to the Phoenix on time.
I am not a huge Pil fan. I like Happy and 9. I like the more poppy Pil songs. Disappointed that Seattle was not played.
But the band did put on a good and long show.

But what's with this John Rambo standing on the side of the stage?

I went to the show in NY Tuesday night. Same deal - no opening band, nice long set.
