Well, I will be if our tickets ever arrive.Freddie Laker wrote:Will be at Islington next Thursday.
Fcuking Ticketnet this time - the less-than-helpful guy on the phone just said his system shows them as having been despatched. When I asked him what date they were sent out, he said his system does not show that information. This is surely a big fat lie, so he doesn't have to admit -
a) They were sent today,
b) They were sent yesterday, or
c) They are due to be sent today but haven't gone out yet
In any case, it's crap service - the gig is in 2 days time. Our postman never turns up before 10:00 a.m. and I'm going straight from work which means if they don't arrive tomorrow I've got to try and arrange for them to be reissued at the box office.
What a bunch of tossers.

Re: Rezillos news
What a great gig last night.
Islington Academy Bar is upstairs from the main venue, and the clue is in the title - it really is just a small bar with a tiny stage at the end. According to the website, capacity is 200, and it must have been very close to full, as the place was heaving.
Rezillos are well known for their love of B-movie imagery, and our first thoughts on arrival were that we'd been transported to Land of the Giants - half the audience must have been over 6 ft tall.
A couple of pints later we made our way down to the front, in time for the start of the Rezillos set at 9:30. As promised, they played the whole of Can't Stand the Rezillos in the same order as the original album. So that meant "Flying Saucer Attack", and "No", to get things warmed up, before the place went loopy for "Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight".
Just as things started to get lively, I spotted a guy in a Suite XVI T-shirt, but didn't get a chance to speak to him - wonder if he ever visits here.
Difficult to pick the best tracks, as the whole of Can't Stand The Rezillos is such a classic album, including the 2 great cover versions of 60's songs, but for my money "My Baby Does Good Sculptures", "Bad Guy Reaction" and "I Can't Stand My Baby" set the place alight.
Having finished the album set, we then got a few new tracks, including the new single "Number 1 Boy", which we were all urged to download so the band can prove how many fans there are out there.
The only other old song was a fantastic "Destination Venus", before a slightly odd choice of final encore - a dodgy cover version of John Lennon's Merry Christmas War Is Over.
Eugene stills looks cool as ever, and Fay dances around like a woman who was on Tops of The Pops just last week, rather than 30 years ago. Jo Callis' guitar playing was fast and furious, and the new bass player makes it all look very easy.
Brilliant band - highly recommended for a top night out.

Re: Rezillos news
Sorry Bazza - Only took a couple on my phone, and certainly nothing worth posting here I'm afraid.
There was no security barrier, so the band were only a couple of feet away - would have been a great opportunity to take some close-up pics, but I was too busy jumping around.
