Re: The Who
Reckon they put on a good performance last night from what I saw on the telly.
They have some good tunes that come across well played live e.g. Pictures of Lily, You Better You Bet, Won't Get Fooled Again etc... but their back catalogue isn't as strong and extensive as that of The Stranglers IMHO.

Re: The Who
Yeah they sounded pretty good but their songs just sound a bit average to me. Certainly compared to the Stranglers anyway!

Ok I will clarify... what I meant was they have some great material, but they don't seem to vary their live set much.

Re: The Who
I always loved Quadrophenia album and film, but the rest of the Who stuff is ok, but I don't see it being as legendary as everyone says they are. Good rock music, but that's about it.
If you compare The Who to AC/DC, I think AC/DC would piss all over them

Re: The Who
I might get a best of album by the Who and see if I like it. I must admit I don't get AC DC at all!
Re: The Who
I'm not an AC/DC fan either. Obviously I like some but I can't listen to a whole album in one sitting.
As to The Who's 'rock'. My favourite Who material came before all the 'Tommy'/'Quadrophenia' stuff. The 1964/1967 stuff.
Best album was 'The Who Sell Out'. And it still is.
