Re: Things that make you H.A.P.P.Y
Reading to my kids..........and then my 5 yr old holding up my Apollo DVD and saying "I want to watch this!".
I asked why being a proud gobsmacked baldie daddy (Thanks Baz..a la Bristol!).
She replied, its The Stranglers. I Like them in the car!
What else can I say?

Good work! when she's older she'll listen to them and have some wonderful childhood memories come flooding back.Flyboy wrote:Reading to my kids..........and then my 5 yr old holding up my Apollo DVD and saying "I want to watch this!".

Yeah it's kind of them! I've spent so much time out of work I'm pretty much a pro at interviews.bill wrote:I'm now working for the NHS, as a records clerk. Yeah, I know, public service cuts, etc., etc... Three redundancies in four years (followed by 18 months out of work) - not exactly the luck of the Irish, is it?! We shall see.Georgie wrote:bill wrote:Starting a new job today made me considerably happier than I was a couple of months ago!
They describe this one as a "permanent" job; let's see how long the feckin' thing lasts, shall we???!!!
Good luck. What's the new job?
I started my permanent job nearly 6 months ago. Now I'm booked to go on a "how to interview" workshop. This is just a few weeks after my team leader went on a "how to coach your team through change" course. Got my eye on an exit route...sort of.
Fingers crossed your fears are unfounded - but at least they're giving you some training!
You've got a job in amongst all the shake up and cuts. But, I suppose now you're in the NHS, it's a bit easier to move around it.

Someone who'll admit that they blew everything out of proportion and despite the silence, admit that they over reacted.

Yeah I know an optician who did that, lost concentration for a few minutes, fell into the lens grinder and made a spectacle of himself.
I tried to make him laugh, He didn't get the joke, and then he said I wasn't right in the head.

Walking into your local boozer - sitting down with beer in hand then hearing Stranglers on the jukebox (and you didn't put it on).
