First gig you ever saw!!

Post by Nokesy »

Don't know if this has been covered before, but what was the first gig you ever saw? I'll kick off, it was Supertramp, '73 I think, in Brighton. Don't remember much about it, except the bearded bloke who plays sax, saying 'Turn me on', and he suddenly lit up, covered in xmas tree lights!
Let me take you to a restuarant that got glass tables, you can watch yourself while you are eating...

That narrows it down a bit !

Me, think it was Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel. Must have been about '75. Come Up & See Me was still in the charts at the time. My sisters boyfriend had a spare ticket.

Great gig for a 12 year old!
This can't be undone

Oooh that's rather unfortunate. :o
If Dave was to use a Hammond L100 for just one more gig I'd die content.

Daniel Bedingfield at the Shepherds Empire in 2002 maybe.

My taste has changed since then.

The Stranglers - Rainbow Theatre London 1979.

Ouch that hurts just looking at that date, it only seems like 28 years ago.

Well if you discount seeing Brotherhood of Man supporting Mike Yarwood (remember him?) as a kid (me, not him), the first proper gig was Vardis in about 1979.
I tried to make him laugh, He didn't get the joke, and then he said I wasn't right in the head.
