Experiencing a feeling of impending doom while viewing the wine rack this evening - how can it be holding only five bottles of tonic and no wine? And there is no gin in the house either...this is not good.

Just had a 500ml carafe house rose in the new local Italian restaurant.
Gorgeous.

Apparently it's international happy day today and Denmark has been rated the happiest country in Europe so by pure coincidence I'm off to Copenhagen where I will drinking whatever I fancy. Only sad thing will be missing Birmingham this Saturday. Enjoy

Re: A bottle (or 5) for the weekend
Here's a story of a gentleman.....
Went drinking with my mate (and work colleague) "Pete" . Really cool guy, one of life's "good guys". He took a Wednesday off a few months back to basically take a disabled friend to a funeral - Just a decent guy - all the things you want to do but just never have the time. He makes time, he's that kinda guy.
Anyway, I notice this and warm to this bloke from day 1 - actually it's more like -25 day 1 as I go drinking with work before I join my new work colleagues. Pete is present - life and soul of the party - I'm a pretty good judge of charachter immediately I warm to this bloke - He;s got simple needs and he's really down to earth - zero bullshit with him. For the next 6 months me and him are working on the same projectss together and we get through shit, and we basically live out of each other's pockets. He'd do anything for me, I'd do anything for him.
Anyway, place I work for sacked him yesterday - for no real reason. I've been drinking with Pete since 1pm. Great to see him and loved every second of it. He'll find a job next week no problem but not nice just to sack him like that.
