I believe that when a new set of strings have been put on a guitar, they need to be bedded in. New strings still have quite a bit of stretch in them, so this needs to be ironed out to ensure that they stay in tune plus the heating up of the venue can affect tuning. This is assuming that a new set of strings are fitted for each gig, but that is unlikely for the bass guitar due to it's heavier gauge strings.

JJ has or had a endorsement with Rotosound so it's likely his strings would be changed for every gig! Maybe they should all focus their attention on Dave's keyboards as he now seems to have so many issues with them!
