An attack on all of us who advocate free speech.
No friend ever served me, and no enemy ever wronged me, whom I have not repaid in full

The reaction of France to Its Islamic problem will be very interesting. Will it go beyond vacuous hashtags?

Yes we can if we accept the consequences.

This was a terrible act of terrorism but the victims poked the bear with the stick.
With freedom comes responsibility.

Why insult a whole religion due to the extreme actions of a few (and this goes on BOTH sides)

Why kill a few because they represent the majority? That is the insult.

It's a satirical magazine. Satire is a centuries old Western tradition - everyone gets lambasted, Monarchs, politicians, religious leaders, celebrities...

If a religion isn't robust enough to withstand a cartoon attack, it's clearly incompatible with Western values.

I wouldn't even begin to excuse or mitigate the actions of these terrorists.
