In the end, Woy hadn't the balls to make the big calls when it mattered.

Could the Costa Rica game be the last ever England World Cup game?

Should Scotland vote No to independence come September, FIFA & UEFA will almost certainly insist that there be a GB team in place for the next WC qualifiers.
They've been after taking the 4 votes from the Home Nations for years and this could be the perfect time to do it.

No more 3 Lions, No more 1966, No more star above the badge.
Or if Team GB are allowed to keep the star, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland gain a World Cup win and sales of 1966 merchandise there go off the scale.

I was going to say ....... a team that loses 2 out of its 3 matches certainly doesn't deserve to progress any further . You could in theory have a team win 2 matches and be in a 3 way tie and still go out , yet someone like England lose 2 and get further . Heard Stuatt Pearce talking on radio this morning and he talks a lot of sense about the England set up ...things need to change and not just at senior level . Not enough players in this country play top level football ( English p[layers ) for there to be competition for places and there is a built in defeatist mentality about England , been there a long time . Until players come through who expect to win and who know how to win international competitions Englands won't compete at this level .
All quiet ..........

Agreed, also, in both games you could see the team switch off after scoring... it was too much of a relief and a surprise and they all looked dizzy afterwards and the oppo had the ball for the next 10 15 minutes... proper teams expect to score and don't get all giddy when they do! In hindsight, I would have taken Terry, much as I hate him, and taken and played Ashley Cole...

Essentially, England lost two close games to teams who each had a genuine world class talent - Pirlo for Italy and Suarez for Uruguay.
That made the difference.
Rooney comes close, but...

How bad are Eng ur land when Costa Rica have made italy look like a bunch of world cup newcomers  Eng ur land players are overated , overpaid glorified charlatans and that includes one or two L f C players.Rooney as ive stated before in a previous thread is without doubt the most overated player ever who has been given world class status :smt010 world class my arse! Gerrard needs to stand down for Eng ur land poor bugger is out of his depth now when it comes to playin international games.LFC got the best out of him thank god and behind Suarez is the best player Pool have ever had.Pass sideways slow slow slow , big boot up and then no support when finally Eng ur land get into the box.Could be worse I could be Scottish I suppose but only just.Out of all the teams ive watched they were the most predictable, naive overated bunch of players put together for a world cup. Anyway lets get back to the bread and butter and get the title back to Anfield next season 8) im sure you will all agree to that :!: The owl has just been given thumbs up to put another Eng ur land team together  the Rooney of the management world ( oh and anyone sayin yeah but at least he scored last night ...an effin tap in Wow.
