Portishead were superb - best thing of the weekend, from the little I caught. As ever, Nick Cave and his Bad Seeds were great (The Mercy Seat being a particular highlight).

Didn't catch the Stones (I'll iPlayer them) or Mumford & Sons (dodged a bullet there, methinks).

Surprised PiL didn't get much more of a mention - they played a blinder.

I saw some of Johnny Marr as well. He did a superb version of "There is a Light". I must admit it brought a tear to my eye. Not many songs do that to me

Shame when he signs it's nothing like having Morrissey, Andy Rourke recentlyu joined Marr on stage, so never say never about Morrissey taking us all by surprise

Mumford and sons what a band ? not.I watched a few seconds of their set (for musical educational purposes) I was so bored that I turned over to watch Kenny Rodgers.I never thought In my life that I would like Kenny Rodgers but compared to Mumford and sons he was fantastic and he even got a bit sarcastic with the crowd (what a rebel). All this makes me think how lucky we are to still have The Stranglers and Hugh of course.
