Re: THATCHER DEAD
Good God, there will, no doubt, be wall to wall progs on TV about her and endless column inches. They will wheel out all the leftist comedians to reminisce about the 'good old days'. No matter what they say, I bet she won't be turning in her grave.
Forget the crushing of the unions, the Poll tax, the total destruction of our manufacturing base and the 'special relationship' with Ronnie Reagan, what made me despise this woman most of all is her aiding and abetting Pinochet not only in the aftermath of the overthrow of a democratically elected president, but also in the suppression of opposition in that country. She was also guilty of continuing to back the apartheid regime in South Africa whilst PM.
I, for one, will not be shedding any tears.
Rich.

Re: THATCHER DEAD
A strong strong leader, by far the strongest leader in my life span.
She was the only real man to ever be a priminister in my 43 years.
But
Her legacy of evil is all there for all to see.

Re: THATCHER DEAD
Got love 20 year old students having a street party. What are you celebrating exactly? That she made 87? Makes no sense which ever way you look at it.

Re: THATCHER DEAD
Finally!
I've looked forward to this day for years now,
and now it's happened it does feel a bit meh.
It should have happened years ago; when we all
(well, most of the folk I know anyway) remembered
better the evilness of the cunt, and why we hated her,
celebrated with fireworks, a holiday weekend (for those
of us still with jobs) and a jubilant ceremony directed by a
pissed up Danny Boyle.
Or, better still, Frankie Boyle.
Still- Anyone up for a wee party round mine tonight?

Re: THATCHER DEAD
Regardless of what you think of Thatcher's time in government celebrating someone's death is pretty low.

Re: THATCHER DEAD
Nah, when it's Thatcher we're talking about, it isn't low.
There's always a few exceptions to that rule of yours,
and Thatcher certainly qualifies.

Shame all this passion and political knowledge some people have is directed at someone who's dead and long out of power and not the current state of the nation. Anyway, play on.

How many people lost there life's because of her , and beaten up by the police and still on police records even though they were never taken to court .
Unless you lived through the miners strike and seen how she gave the met police free license to beat on men women and children we will never understand the hate that people have of her.
She also made sure that the police never took the blame for Hillsborough and blamed it on the fans.
She destroyed many people's lives without a care
