Loved Subbuteo, between us at school we set up a league brought all our bits to a different mates house each Tuseday night, it took ages to set up the stands, tv crews, ballboys and unbelievably poor floodlights. All the other lads lived a good hours bus ride away and after the games we would venture to the nearest McDonalds for grub which was another 45 mins away. Great times until some bastard started bringing loads of Wasps on the bus.

I played all the game myself and wrote all the results down in a pad and did a league table. I even painted some of the players black to make it more realistic. Great times!
I did the same....also did you notice that some teams were better than others? Some of the players had wider bases which seemed to give them an advantage. Also the old blue and red teams from the original box were better than the teams you bought separately.

Do Jazz Mags count as "1970's toys/games"?

Remember that lose bit of carpet, just under your bed, where
dirty books could be hid? In the days before I discovered that
the album sleeve for Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells leant it'self
perfectly as secure storage for my collection of dog eared
gentleman's literature, that flap of lose carpet was a god send,
wasn't it? Until that day when you came home from school to
find your mum had re-carpeted your room and your shameful
pile of filth was stacked neatly on your bed. Remember that?
