Get a move on.

The whole idea of having a democracy is for people to use it even if you just spoil your ballot paper (which remains an option as long as there is no box to choose "none of the above").

I know there are just a few key marginals (although the number is perhaps higher than in past elections) and they say the outcome is decided by a few thousand people in those areas but this is only because so many people don't get off their arses and get themselves to the polling station. If you don't vote you really don't have the right to complain about the result.

Well said

Also, its really not that long ago that women were denied the vote, so it is important to use it.

I live in the key marginal that is expected to be the first to fall to the Conservatives.....
So i was out early, voted at 8am on the way to work

Always been a loyal Labour supporter and feel quite sad today as thew words of Sinatra keep going round my head...'And now the end is near…'

Anyway, I’m just off now to vote Labour in a seat where my vote is probably ‘wasted’. But I truly believe in Labour, feel grateful for what they have done for me and my country and feel sad that we are about to hand over to a man who cannot possibly make things better in my opinion.

I think the polls have moved this week and I don’t think anymore it will be a hung Parliament. I think we will now see a small Tory majority.

God knows that Labour aren’t perfect but let us not forget…

The minimum wage
44,000 more doctors and 89,000 more nurses than in 1997
biggest hospital building programme in history
smaller class sizes
12 million pensioners benefiting from increased Winter Fuel Payments.
900,000 pensioners lifted out of poverty.
More young people attending university than ever before.
longest period of low interest/mortgage rates
inflation under control
Northern Ireland safe
Tax credits for all families
Lowest general tax rates for a generation
All cancer patients seen within two weeks
3,400 sure start schemes for youngsters
Free nursery provision for all 3-4 year olds
shortest waiting times since NHS records began
etc etc…….

Thank you Labour. And goodnight.

I suspect that a man of that name's going to win in our area.

No, just looked it up, contrary to his appearance, apparently his name starts with "H"

I was very bemused today when my son returned from the polling station and announced that they were handing out one 'haribo' sweet to each first time voter

They've really spared no expense in this election campaign :!:

Maybe the freebies should reflect the local area and customs. For example, party representatives in your location should've handed out Smokies, in Wick it would be candles, Barrow is obvious - and I just wish I voted in Redcar!

Voted and it makes you feel how lucky and fortunate we are to be able to vote.
