Top stage today, considering it wasn't a MTF. Down to 4 contenders within 3 mins of Yellow, but in reality, it's now a two horse race between Contador & Andy Schleck.

Evans blew his chance by dropping 8 mins but, alledgedly, was riding with a fractured elbow.

It was almost like a track sprint at one point, with them nearly coming to a dead halt. Interesting to note their conversation, near the top of the Col Du Madelaine, & infered agreement to leave the fighting to another day. Putting as much time into the others in the process, seemed to take precedence.

As Harry Corbett used to say, "Bye bye everybody, bye bye" :smt006

I see Mark Renshaw has been thrown off the tour due to head butting another rider at the sprint for the finish. I can't ever remember a rider being thrown off the TDF!

Paul Sherwen saying there were fisticuffs at the end of yesterday stage. One guy took out his front wheel & wrapped it over the other guys head! Result €300 fine.

IMO Renshaw was extremely harshly delt with.

More of the same again. The guys on Eurosport thought Menchov was going to take serious time from them arsing about but it was only 15 secs in the end.

Chapeau, Schleck & Contador!

I notice today the race has gone past the spot, on the Col de Portet d'Aspet, where Olympic road race champion Fabio Casartelli tragically lost his life back in 1995. RIP.

Contador in yellow by 8 secs! Schleck's chain came off 4k from the top of the final climb. ITV4's Sherwin & Ligget arguing about whether the lead group should have waited? I'd agree with Ligett, this is a race & the incident wasn't caused by spectators. A mechanical problem's part & parcel of racing. Yes, the timing was crucial, but no one stopped for Nicolas Roche when he punctured on the lower slopes.

Yes you are right. Great win today for thomas voeckler from Team Bbox Telecom. Thomas is a class rider and show us today why he is indeed the French National Champion.
