The first film that scared the crap out of you...

Post by PaulinLondon »

For me, it was some really creepy number called, "Asylum" with Robert Powell.

The trailer is on YouTube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tu0opr6j10A

I never want to watch it again.

I remember watching "Black Christmas" for the first time back in 1985.It was shown during the Summer and I was left alone in the house whilst my parents where on holiday. This scared the absolute shit out of me,I did'nt go upstairs to bed after the film finished, and just bunked down on the sofa........

But the first film to give me nightmares was "Dr Terrors House of Horrors" I remember sitting up on Friday night watching the old "Don't watch alone" double bills on BBC1 with my parents. And my Dad turning round to me and saying....."This better not give you nightmares son!"...........guess what it fecken did........

As an adult I'm not sure but as a kid two flicks stick out, both seen at the flicks too. 1st up the kiddy catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Fooking Scarey that was. The bit when he 1st arrives singing 'Lollipops. . !' and The opening mins to Jaws when the guys floating about under the water. Seen that in 75 in the Coliseum which was recently torched. The Anal Alternative was pretty scary too. Especially the soundtrack. . . :?

Carrie ... when the film was first shown on TV ... surprised my Dad let me watch it actually ... that night I kept dreaming that there was a blood soaked girl in the wardrobe trying to get out. The grabbing hand at the end still always makes me jump ...
