Jim,

Can The Strangler and I seek £8 per annum out of the budget to keep all members posted ?

Happy to go to a Forum Committee meeting on this if necessary.

One of those days when I got stuck at the level crossing waiting for three trains to go through, a fast going north, a slow going south and then a slow going north. Who timetables these things

Interesting.

Check out the timetable syndication thred on tracknerds.com

Normal waiting times in UK are not supposed to exceed seven minutes, even at peak times.

This has been called into question where two track lines carry regular passenger and freight rolling stock.

Er, interesting...? Will time it next time. I turn the engine off every time I have to wait. I've even been known to complete sudoku while waiting but if they're allowed to keep the crossing closed for seven minutes that's not surprising.

I'd produce diagrams of the best ways to deal with the two level crossings in the village but I have to thatch my roof, I mean, I don't know how to post diagrams.

Was the slow train (the one going north) a passenger train or a freight train ?

Passenger, rarely see freight.
