Remember years ago i got picked for jury at the High court in Glasgow, some poor guy coming home from the theatre alone was set upon by these 2 nutters they battered him to a pulp then just as they had him hanging over the suspension bridge over the clyde the coppers came and saved him just in time, fortunately at the last minute the 2 changed their plea to guilty both receiving 10 year each for attempted murder, not the best experience of my life i must admit

Yeah I've done it, and got asked to do it a second time. Leeds both times - I got out of doing the second one.
It can be excruciatingly boring or pretty interesting - it's always tiring tho, I'm sure of that. The case I got wasn't a dull one, it was a miner who'd be falsely imprisoned as well as assaulted by the bobbies in Selby during 84 and on strike.
The miner, who had done nothing wrong, was awarded record compensation by the jury - we even got on the news with it. I wasn't 100% sure about the case tbh but when the miner dashed up to us in the jury, crying with joy, shaking our hands and saying thank you loads of times, I knew we were well and truly in the right.

Think I'll go for a stroll in the trees.

yeah, a few years ago.very boring so take a book or 5 in case you don't get called, but if you get on a case it is very interesting but i found it quite worrying that i was part of a jury that included some real numpty's who suddenly felt they had a bit of power.
well that was amazing, its taken him all day to learn that bass solo

May I just stress that this was not me. I did nearly nod off though, 3 or 4 times a day.theraven1979 wrote:I haven't done it but I know a few people that have. A friend of mine got called up - It was the middle of summer and he'd been out drinking the night before. Apparantly he vommed in the jury box.

There was a commercial fraud case up for trying too, involving British Gas, and I'm pretty sure the potential jurors (all of us) were warned that it was likely to last AT LEAST 9 MONTHS. Fook me I think I'd have topped myself in court if picked for that one.
