Bored of this - I also find that offensive so I've binned Stevie.

Nice one Jim, was just about to contact you as he's really putting a downer on the forum for me as well. There's a Stevie with similar views and attitude I notice on the Eastern Daily Press website every so often so maybe he actually has nothing better to do. A shame.

Thanks for keeping the forum going :)

I think it was the only way Jim. Stevie always advocated direct action.

Thanks Jim

Genuinely sorry it had to come to this.
I'm all for giving someone the chance of reflection but he never seemed interested.

Hopefully that calms down your inbox.

Just to clarify my part in this silly situation.

I received a PM as part of a group PM, regarding his comments. I replied to the PM, thinking my opinion was required and that the original had only been sent to me and to Jim by the sender. It certainly wasn't ganging up on anyone, or trying to stir a vendetta against him. I haven't said anything I'm not prepared to post in public, just that I didn't want to make it all public.

Sorry again all, I didn't help the situation but all I can say is, that it wasn't a deliberate ploy, I usually avoid political arguments and cyber conflicts for these very reasons.
Think I'll go for a stroll in the trees.

Blimey! Just logged on after a busy day and all this has happened!

For my part I had a couple of PMs from members showing support to my stance against Stevie T and I replied thanking them. I later got a couple of PMs from Stevie which were not nearly as provocative as his public posts but I chose to ignore them. Seeing his reactions on this thread today shocked me, so whilst it is regretful, I think with hindsight it has been the right decision to bin him.

Glad to see however that many of us have stood up to a bully and I'm sure the forum can settle back down into a respectful exchange of opinion about all sorts of issues and a lot of fun posting about the Stranglers!

Many thanks for running it Jim, much appreciated.

Thanks for the words of support - I just wish I'd have got on board with it a bit sooner but the Hugh Selby gig (very good by the way!) pretty much took a big chunk out of my weekend. Hope no one was offended it's certainly not representative of the forums. I'm all for free speech but needless effing and jeffing, goading others (regardless of whether they differ with your opinion or not) and repeatedly going off on one is unacceptable. If this happens again you can mark posts as abusive and/or contact me direct. I will bring PM functionality back in a few days - When I do I'd appreciate if we could all simply delete the mass messages that may appear in your inbox.

Thanks

Jim

Thanks Jim for all your efforts. Can we get back to favourite Stranglers album/track/best gig etc type of threads? Thanks.
