I think Polyphonic Size were on the bill too.

Re: 29.4.88 London Astoria (Purple Helmets)
NOT The Marquee, it WAS The Astoria. Just checked my ticket stub (No 168)ThruBeingCool wrote:The Purple Helmets DID play The Astoria though around the same time.I went and still have the ticket, will have to dig it out. (A Friday night April '88 ) Pretty sure the original information was taken from my ticket stub!buginblack wrote:29.4.88 London Astoria (Purple Helmets) This was at The Marquee when it was in Wardour Street. I have uploaded some shots taken that night to the gallery.

I was thrown out of that gig before they came on stage for lifting the curtain. My mate came out of the fire-exit to let me back in, and when we got back there someone had kindly closed it. We managed to rip the door down and got in just as they came on stage.
JJ jumped into the audience during the gig to sort out one of the bouncers.
And I ended up in a scrap with the bouncer who threw me out when I passed him on the way out at the end of the gig, he took exception to the fact I'd got back in and me laughing at him.

Then I got tired of counting all of these blessings, and then I just got tired.

NEW Gig 21 MARCH 1977
Just realised Ihave a GRIP poster advertising a gig at the TOP OF THE WORLD form Monday 21 March (I assume 1977). The price was £1 and this is scribbled out and reduced to 80p. Tickets from student union.
Also a colleague has confided in me tha they were at the infamous Guildford Uni / TV gig but didn't want to say as they knew I'd grill them about iot and they weren't really concentrating (they preferred the support band.......)

Re: Additions, Errors, links etc here please
The Fontwell gig in a big top tent was Saturday 30th October 1993 and was on from 3pm till 10pm. 999 were the main support act with a few other minor bands.
The City hall gig at Newcastle was 08/10/92 not the day before.
I will put another post up when i work out when they played the Kent Custom bike show. Twas either 97 or 98 but will confirm the date.
