Good grief Owen, way to make a gal feel even older than she is !
Had sorta forgottten the Beau Sejour gig - not totally remarkable, I'll grant ya, but like you I was back at the hotel bar later - just remember Bruce emerging sopping wet from the (completely out of bounds) swimming pool, berating the rest of the crew (along the lines of "I thought we were all jumping in the pool?" - for gods sake, he wasn't a novice, you'd a thunk he would've known...)

And "dear" Mr Sidwell...

Thanks for the dubious memories, Mr C!....

Being Owen's touring partner throughout the whole of the 10 tour, his diary certainly brought the memories flooding back. As an addition to this thread I will, at a later date, contribute my own personal memories of what was to be an incredible year for us both.

Thanks for bringing this to life again O. It's nice to read something relevant.

A fascinating, revealing, memorable tale mate- nice one! And thanks again for the effort-
much appreciated.
Great pix too- and that old bit about getting mistaken for the band?
The band wish they looked that cool back in 1990 8)

My favourite bits?

Dave's Bag!

The "Lille Cheese Incident" (sounds like a shite Poirot mystery, might well be for all I know  )

"...getting drinks, food and porn..."-Just the essentials then? Ray Mears would be proud.

The planning, trains, timetables, locals, assorted arseholes-It looks like a logistical nightmare mate, no wonder
it took you nearly 20 years to launch another mass Euro invasion!

And as for Deek, he's still on the scene, I've "bumped" into him a few times at a couple of recent Hugh and
Stranglers gigs- did you not see him at Edinburgh last year?
I'm a comedian and poet, so anything that doesn't get a laugh is a poem. B.Hicks.

Yeah, I was talking to him in the pub before the gig-great to catch up. I hadn't seen him since 1990! His old mucker Graham has apparently disappeared.
Thanks for the positive comments-nice to know my efforts are appreciated...

Thanks Owen for that excellent review of your 10 tour.

Posts like that are the best things about this forum.

BTW Owen I was speaking to an old acquaintance of yours the other day. Paul Hills do you remember him?

Thanks Man They Love to hate, stumbled on this the other night and stayed up late reading it, well worth it, some good stories. The bits about being in Yugoslavia just before it all kicked off where really intersting so where the stories of band politics, the atmos between Hugh and JJ twoards the end and Hugh's attitude towards you lot hanging out with the crew- very interesting! beyond comment really.

Thanks a lot though, a real good read and great pics that the music industry could never capture- mega cheers mate!
