This is when I lost interest. I loved JLNOE but overall, a real disappointment. I just don't get how many people seem to rate this album.

A very unique album indeed, absolute rubbish or absolute brilliance depending on which way it's viewed.

Always remember the first day I sat down to listen to it, and I wondered what on earth had happened to my favourite band.

But like many others I grew to love it, favourite tracks are Second Coming, Waiting, Four Horsemen, and Hallow - I like em all though & couldn't pick a single favourite

I think this record is Dave Greenfield's finest moment... of course, his fast arpeggio runs are kinda his trademark, but this album features some of his most inventive playing. He layered up his keyboard parts on this in a way he never did before and never would do again.

JLNOE for me.

Thrown Away a very close second.

Great album.

I vividly remember playing this lp again and again as a 14 yr old - my ears were used to top 40 pop, beatles and kinks and slade hits, some elvis classics and the punky hits of the day (sham, pistols, early stranglers, clash, cure, undertones),
This was something else - it totally blew me away and I was (still am) overwhelmed at this off the wall collection. Together with The Raven their absolute highest acheivement.

I voted for Hallow To Our Men - fantastic - if only for that haunting keyboard melody

having been breastfed on the first 3 albums,The Raven came as a bit of a shock

so when The Meninblack came out,I thought it was more or less all over, definantely the last album

grown to like it over the years, apart from Centuries Turn

remember the tour, thinking, why play this when everyone wants to hear Sewer & Heroes

but they bounced back with Feline & La Folie

yeah a very strange time for the Stranglers fans
well why not,I always keep my socks on

La Folie and Feline are still pretty weird albums, though! Feline in particular strikes me as a very odd record to make when you've just signed a new major label deal with an enthusiastic record company and you want to capitalise on the chart action that 'Golden Brown' and 'Strange Little Girl' had. I'd say Feline was their second weirdest album after The Gospel... it was the last of the drug albums.

I'm surprised at the lack of votes for 'Second Coming' so far!

Whilst on record it took me some time to get used to the v sterile production, live in the 80s gigs the songs came alive

See this version of Thrown Away for the proof https://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=00Qa5Fn4gQE
Please allow me to re-arrange your face sometimes
I'd really like to get to know you better
