Would you still go?
I know this is unlikely but if they were to be other people that would take over from JJ, Dave and Jet on full time basis with Baz would you go and see them?
Re: Would you still go?
If Baz had his own band I would see them but if he tried to keep the Stranglers name. That would just be wrong. I'd probably be still tempted though!

If Dave left, that to me would be the end of the band.

I'd check out 'straighten out' more often...

Re: Would you still go?
If Jet retired (Jet is kind of in semi retirement now anyway)I would continue to go but not if either JJ or Dave left.

Hugh - "We had gangs of skinheads coming along trying to cause problems and stuff"
Rick Wakeman - "How did you deal with it?"
Hugh - "Our bass player used to jump off the stage and beat the shit out of them!"

Re: Would you still go?
I could still go with Dave and JJ as I have seen them a couple of times without Jet and they have both been very good gigs.
Re: Would you still go?
I have to say that JJ's bass and Dave's keyboards are what MAKE The Stranglers sound for me.
As long as they are both in the band I'd go see them.
But I'd also go and see then doing solo stuff if that's what they chose to do.

Re: Would you still go?
If they charged what they charged now and it was just Baz, I doubt they'd be playing anything but very small venues.
Last time I came here a friend of mine just got triple-jacked over a steeplehammer and jessop jessop jessop jessop jessop
Re: Would you still go?
But for so long Hugh's voice was a major contributor to that special Stranglers sound. Change happens and people, generally, adapt and become accepting, to a greater or lesser extent. It's unlikely that all three would leave at the same time.Rockula wrote:I have to say that JJ's bass and Dave's keyboards are what MAKE The Stranglers sound for me.

Re: Would you still go?
Not a chance. When Jets out of the picture I won't be going so the nightmarish prospect of Baz fronting a band called the stranglers with no stranglers in it is a no go. I don't think Baz would even consider it
how did I get down here, well it's a long story
