UK Tour Part Deux - Complete Giants Set - D'ya Want It?

Post by Manc In Black »

There has been an unprecedented amout of cover for the Band in the run up to the release of Giants, with a huge amout of acceptance from the Media & Press.
The UK Tour though has not allowed a full airing of the full Giants set - probably down to wishing to blend Old & New.

Giants crept onto stage in the guise of the sublime Freedom is Insane as part of the Black and Blue outing.

The WiB provided an acoustic debut for My Fickle Resolve.
The Electric set provided Freedom is Insane (again) , Lowlands, Giants, Boom Boom

Les Nocturnes gave us Lowlands, My Fickle Resolve, Mercury Rising & TWOOMS in full flight capturing the confidence & magnificence to be witnessed by all
Europe 1 tonight might change the mix - who knows.
Maybe we will yet get to see a UK outing of the next "LATER" series when it rolls - we can only hope - perhaps the doors are finally opening again for the MiBs as witnessed on the countless recent BEEB sortees

The UK Tour gave us Lowlands, TWOOMS, Giants & Mercury Rising

So 7 out of 10 so far

I'd love to see this as 10 out of 10 in it's full glory, what do you think?

Could even throw in Retro Rockets / I Don't See The World Like You Do

Maybe if the band do 2 or 3 summer dates near festivals like in Holmfirth and Preston as in recent years... I think that would be perfect 'cause it tends to be mostly die hard type fans. Can't see it working on a full tour though
Shove it up yer bollocks then!

In a parallel universe maybe.

I'd prefer a mix of stuff . Not comparring Giants to 10 , but when the band palyed a lot of 10 on tour ack in '91 , I was very disappointed , mainly as I didn't like much on 10 . I like Giants - but wouldn't go overboard on it , would prefer a little SXV1 and NC in th emix too ( ie Relentless especially ) . Some of the older stuff too wouldn't go amiss and the band have been churning out a few surpises , welcome one's , over the past few years ( Sweden to name but one ) . If there is to be an album based gig or tour - then surely The Raven is best for that now - B&W and Rattus having being covered on one off's . Probably this idea is suited to a one off , but I'd much prefer Raven to Giants . Sorry , but thats the way I feel . If its Raven I'd go - Giants - very probably not .
All quiet ..........

It would obviously be giants with a mix of other stuff. It's a bit late to tour the raven I reckon, would be a bit silly. I'd say tour the latest achievements with a few old classics thrown in to bulk it up. Can't go wrong.

It wouldn't interest me at all. If they did a complete Black and White set, well now you're talking.
