The band moved with the times and so did Jet and in general I think he used the machines in interesting ways, particularly on Feline. I will admit that some of the drumming circa Dreamtime was a bit OTT and dated in hindsight but I think most of the time it worked.
Ok...albeit the great man can do what he can do but skipping mechanics and just doing theory from Feline onwards smacks of laziness....I mean can you picture it...."Take 7 Hugh".....and the programming has been completed.....

So sooo difficult this one as he is such a one off ..I love his dominance in NMH the quirkiness of peasant .his timing in enough time ..some drummers have to practice for years to play like joey jordison,Neil peart etc but they'll never have that touch that jet has ..love that man

One of His Majesty's highlights is how he used to build up the drum intro to Nice 'n Sleazy in the 1980s.

Starting with the floor tom only, then adding the symbol and then the snare.

Utterly sublime.

Always considered his drumming on the start of Ice to be superb. To sustain that is awesome.
As for the drum machine, it worked on Feline IMO, I liked the idea that they went with there.
But I cannot bear it on tracks like Hitman. Just sounds wrong!

A tough call, from the subtle brilliance of Peasant to the mighty Genetix and beyond, genius!
Thank you very much
