I have conveyed my apologies to Shaggy that I cannot be at the gig tomorrow.
I wish the band and everyone a fine evening at the Hope and Anchor.
Not happy at all.........

Ferfexake!
Re: Hope & Anchor - New Date
When I got back today I loaded Rattus, Heroes and B&W (re-issues) into my multi CD player and hit random play. Out of all the 44 songs that could have been selected it decided to play Straighten Out……how ironic is that. So I thought sod it I will write a little ditty about my day out at The Hope and Anchor.
The day started for me by meeting Brian on the train after catching up on a bit of gossip I helped him drink one of the 2 cans of lager he had brought with him( I’m good like that ) we arrived in Paddington in what seemed like no time. Got to Kings X and got our digs squared away I went off to do some stuff in London, Brian went off to watch England v Argentina. Caught up Brian in Islington to watch the second half then it was off to the Anchor.
As it was still fairly early pacing myself was the order of the day as I was drinking with The Forums Heavy Weight Champion. Eventually and I am sorry if this is in the wrong order but, Leskei, John & Tania, Paul B, the lovely Kathinboots, Turkey Trotter and Paul from Long Newton all turned up. First up were Cash For Chaos who did some really good cover versions from artists such as The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Damned, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Dead Kennedy’s, Rezillos and the Adverts and probably some I have missed.
Straighten Out followed with their standard set list with Shaggy on good form instructing the sound man to sort the vocals out. They were still a bit quiet during No More Heroes, but after that sounded superb as usual. Doc’s rendition of Peasant was fucking brilliant as was the whole night. There was even a good old fashioned scrap with Shaggy leaving the stage, bass in hand to sort some youths out.
Well if that is the last time they are going to play the Anchor as they say they are pissed off with the lack of support they get down south, then I am glad I saw it.
If I have missed anyone out or my facts slightly confused then so be it, but I was pissed…….alright!!!
Oh and finally I just thought I would show you the fantastic house number plate that Brain’s Mum made for me!!
