Cornwall Newbie

Post by micmacmoc » 07 May 2013, 11:45

Hello strangle strangers. I'm micmacmoc and I live in mevagissey. Been a big fan of the boys since I was a bairn. First saw them reading festival way back. Missed out on seeing them in the early 80s at Southampton by a hares whisker. my sister went and broke a tooth there, proper eh?

Saw them again at the Daphne DuMaurier festival in Fowey, blinding gig. I think I may have met some of you forum people there and then. I took Norfolk Coast cd on my honeymoon, fell in love with it....so when the boys were playing Looe festival on our anniversary last year we just had to go. The wife books us into this posh hotel in Looe for the event, who is sitting in the bar when we arrive, Baz and his manager who's name I forget but was a proper decent, funny guy. We had two nights staying in the hotel with them all, drinking, tall tales and whatnot. Blinding good time! Baz is a genuinely funny bloke, as I'm sure amany woul;d agree. Dave was a fellow go out for a smoke type...we drank too much. I discussed Greek cooking with his missus, rather drunkenly. Then we met Jim McCauley (have I got that right?) who was a great bloke, he came back to Mevagissey the next day and dropped in to say hello. The gig was a nightmare, I'm surprised they went on. The manager was worried sick about safety in the storm. But they are a tough bunch!

Anyway that's me and my stranglers story. I'll dig out the pics when I can.

Hello stranglers people!
