It doesn't look (from the picture) like the guy is exactly resisting!! It looks like he is willingly just standing there while someone behind him has a good look to work out the angle of least resistance (or is that most resistance!!) for entry!! :smt099  This was the 18 months of public humiliations at certain gigs where the band began to deal with the gobbing Punks. I think it started in Swindon on the "La Folie" tour in 1982, where the first public spanking was performed on a guy for spitting. This act was also carried out on some poor sod at the Edinburgh Playhouse during the Feline tour in February 1983. I didn't know about the "Lyon" banana incident, surprised it wasn't in the tabloids "The Stranglers give fan one of his five a day, unfortunately they stick it in the wrong hole!!"
Hugh - "We had gangs of skinheads coming along trying to cause problems and stuff"
Rick Wakeman - "How did you deal with it?"
Hugh - "Our bass player used to jump off the stage and beat the shit out of them!"

Sprouts too, in Brussels, I heard.

Fries in France, also, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm just glad I never went to the gigs in Turkey that year.
