The Purple Turtle is probably the best. It's Reading's premier 'rock pub' - ie it has a good jukebox and it's not mainly frequented by idiots in tracksuits that want to stab you. Or Pavlov's Dog, but that might be a bit too 'student-y' for you lot! Both are within walking distance of the hexagon.

I live in Reading, could've suggested a few places that are better than the allied, but if it's decided then best to go with this. Anyone else up for a few beers beforehand?
