Re: Last Movie Watched

I watched Iron Man for the first time last night, my mate lent it me, I’m not a big superhero fan but this was Ok. I quite liked the idea of an arms dealer recognising the damage their corporation has done in the world and wanting to change that. I had actually read about this movie in an academic a...

Re: Last Movie Watched

Unbroken I was gonna write a long piece, bit late for it really. End of the day I like Land and Freedom and I like The Wind that shakes the Barley not much more to it, some people like Top Gun and Rambo I don't and don't even get me started about Red Dawn, to be honest I am happy to watch something ...

Re: Last Movie Watched

Being from Northern Ireland, I do get wound up when it comes to history and politics of Ireland portrayed by Hollywood. Michael Collins is hoplessly mis-cast throughout and although it is historically twisted it was accepted as OK by irish nationalists as it was sympathetic to their cause. The ones...

Re: The new Doctor Who

The Kevin McNally photo certainly looks like JJ in the la Folie video. He really does mate, apart from being shorter he looks quite a bit like JJ, but also the characters name, so he looks like JJ but sounds like Hugh ;) Grayowales, might go for that "looks like JJ but sounds like Hugh", ...

Re: The new Doctor Who

Ok on the subject of The Twin Dilemma, I have always thought the costume designers must have been fans of the Stranglers, JJ Burnel in particular, I have long felt that the character Hugo Lang played by Kevin McNally has an uncanny resemblance to JJ- see photo (he's the one in the middle) http://i44...

Re: My 'desert island discs' top 10 - let's see yours!!!

Near impossible, this is just based on now though and could change next week, I dunno if I can do albums or not but I would prefer that so here goes: The Stranglers- No More Heroes (Dagenham Dave) Siouxsie and the Banshees- The Scream (Carcass) David Bowie- Diamond Dogs (Sweet Thing) Soft Cell- Non ...

Re: Last Movie Watched

you obviously know the story better than I do mate, I mean I'm not going to pretend to have ever read a book on the subject so I will accept what you are saying, but it can't be as dubious as the Michael Collins movie from the 1990's if you know that one?

Re: The new Doctor Who

I think Colin Baker had his moments, he played angry probably better than the majority of other Doctor's. I watched The Twin Dilemma at the weekend- utter shite!. First season was way too continuity obsessed and aimed at fans only, which accounted for its downfall in said period. I think the two Sil...

Re: The new Doctor Who

Parasite you are joking that Colin Baker is your 2nd favorite Doctor right? Whilst Smith is good he hasn't yet beaten Tennant for me and certainly noweher near Pertwee, but each to their own of course

Re: The new Doctor Who

Yes, a very nice episode, written by Gareth Roberts, who was responsible for other episodes such as The Shakespeare Code and Planet Of The Dead. The cat conversation was indeed "priceless", and the performance from Matt Smith overall was brilliant. His interactions with James Corden highl...
