Re: famous people you have met.
Other than various Stranglers at post-Hugh record-signing things, I can only think of David Sutton (ran David Sutton Motorport, which became Audi Sport UK while the quattros were rallying), David Llewellyn (once an Audi rally driver), Chris Coburn (head of Coburn Improvements, who did the rally deve...

The Golden Lion by Wilbur Smith. Good stuff, pretty much the only writer that I'll read who writes about this period (1700s, or thereabouts) and probably because he's one of the first authors I read when I started reading proper grown-up books. Now, his modern stuff (Those in Peril, Vicious Circle) ...

DLR was lovely last time I went on it, like a big rollercoaster but not as scary. I used to go to an exhibition at Excel and the DLR section was the best bit - and interesting to see the contrast of the relatively small blocks of flats and some small houses on the left, and all the massive glass and...

Same people who think the moon landings were faked - It would've probably cost more than putting a man on the moon and the repurcussions from the twin towers. Jim Yes, I recall a NASA bloke being interviewed a few years ago on the subject of the moon landings being genuine. His response noted that ...

Re: They Might Be Giants
I always liked "Birdhouse", but "Istanbul" was a bit to quirky for me. "Birdhouse in your soul" was shown on Saturday morning TV on the same programme as "96 Tears", with various celebs commenting and voting on the various songs. Dawn French loved "96 Tea...

Re: The Returned, Channel 4
No. I watched the first one, realised I'd forgotten too much about the first series (or never really got it in the first place) and dropped it.

Re: Top five Stranglers songs you have never heard live
I lose track of which songs I've heard live, and which ones I've got live recordings of (often thanks to people on this forum). Most of the obscure b-sides and so on count, and although it would be interesting to hear them live, it doesn't necessarily mean they're all that good as a live track. Some...

Re: Blondie - Glasgow - 1979
I remember the gig was broadcast on Radio 1 as a live thing, it was New Years Eve. Then the film was shown on BBC4 a few years ago while they were re-showing some old stuff. I've got it on DVD somewhere.

Re: The Chameleons
I can't say I've heard any Chameleons stuff, but I did very much like a CD I bought by "The Sun and the Moon", which featured two of the band. Is Chameleons stuff similar in style to it, does anyone know?
