Re: One more single from Dark Matters?
Instead of another single' I would prefer DM repackaged with acoustic bonus tracks like jap/french. Plus the live in tokyo album looks a fantasic package ( artwork for live in tokyo 10/10 art work for all live 0/10. I would like extra tracks of some sort , for me though not accoustic , can't stand ...

Rip Astro of UB40
Well I know some on here didn't like UB40, and I didn't like what they became. But their first couple of albums were good. And one of my best friends at school loved them, whilst I loved The Stranglers. And so we lent each other albums, he got into The Stranglers and I got into UB40. That was a very...

Re: One more single from Dark Matters?
I think No Man's Land could work on radio 6. Its quite an attention grabbing lyric the "nobody move..." bit. The whole song is quite hard hitting. It wouldn't be a hit single but some listeners would take notice of it IMO.

Re: One more single from Dark Matters?
mmm dunno. LMOTM is a great album track, but single material? I'm not so sure.
I can't see any other suitable choices other than the ones they've already tried. If pushed I would probably say No Man's Land has the best chance..

Re: New keyboard player
I'm going to start a new thread, Fave bucks Fizz song and which lineup to you prefer? Were they better with David Van Day, oh and please someone mention a new Stranglers live album on the way, its getting silly now we all know it's Toby, cant believe we haven't had an official announcement. Its jus...

Re: New keyboard player
Well, it'll be interesting to see what the sound will be like now with someone else, especially if he uses all the same kit. Because I agree that in recent years some of the "plinkity plonkity" sounds coming out weren't the best. And I wonder whether Dave's arthritis was a factor in that, ...

Re: New keyboard player
Here's a question: do you think that Mr Hounsham will be using the same equipment as Dave did live? Or will he try to mimic the sounds using a couple of synths? Important if they want to keep the same live experience. I believe he is using Daves keyboards. When I interviewed Baz recently he said th...

Re: Dark Matters - Second Thoughts
Listened to it myself again today, first time for a couple of week ...have to say I think DG's keyboards are superb in LMOTM ,last 3 tracks of the album for me :-) To me LMOTM feels like the best track on the album right now. I think it's nearly up there with the likes of Relentless, Freedom and ot...

Re: No Time To Die
It was a terrific opener, it won't get played now though, it wouldn't be in good taste obviously.

Re: New keyboard player
Yes it's respect really, but the Stranglers have an odd way of doing things, it would be down to management to deal with this stuff. Lt Kudu. Yep in my eyes you can say it's down to the managemnet but he's joined this band to help them tour which is not going to be easy by no means i feel the the b...

Re: New keyboard player
I don't have much of an issue with a band carrying on with one original member as long as a rival group of ex-members doesn't exist. Then it becomes a circus, think 'UB40' or various 'Yes' incarnations. I would take issue if a group ploughed on with no original members left ('Yes' again). Don't do ...
