Re: World Cup vs Olympics/Paralympics

I'm off on a stag weekend so I will be attempting to make sense of England's opening game after about twelve hours of drinking. Or maybe I'll be sound asleep by 8pm... :smt114 But seriously, I blame Sky - they have pumped gazillions of pounds into the game which makes footballers the most overpaid p...

Re: Rik is dead, the Peoples Poet is dead.

He was the highlight of "Man Down", a vehicle for Greg Davies, and was playing it like an ageing Vivian if anything - mischievous ne'erdowell out to wind his son (Davies) up at every opportunity. Not a bad way to bow out.

Re: World cup dream team.

the sun newspaper the last bastion of journalistic truth..............not really its a facist rag and fucking awful full of lying shite And sadly, the most read newspaper in the country (or at least it used to be - I don't know whether the journalistic earwax that is the Metro has taken its mantle).

Re: Rik is dead, the Peoples Poet is dead.

Yes, I saw him live three times - Bottom, The Government Inspector and Waiting for Godot. Great fun each time. Just goes to show his versatility - he wasn't just adept at hitting people with frying pans (although he did that very well). I don't know how well known it is but he was diagnosed with epi...

Re: Anyone going to Cheltenham ?...

Re my last post, I believe children are our future and if people want to bring their beautiful babies to the front of a stranglers gig they should be allowed to do so without worrying about drunken oafs knocking into them I disagree strongly. Personally, I think that taking a very young kid down to...

Re: Last book read

Catch 22. Glad I didn't pay a lot for it - absolute nonsense. Maybe it was more relevant when it was published.

Last one before that was Seven Days in Nice - a fascinating read, even if Jet will never win the Nobel prize for literature.

101 dinner party songs

Stumbled across this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002YBOHWU/ref=dm_ws_ap_tlw_alb2 Starts off well at least. I don't go to a lot of dinner parties, which suits me, surrounded as I am by over-achieving egomaniacs where I live, but if I did, what a way to kick things off musically! Downhill all ...

Given their back catalogue, an hour and 12 or 13 songs sounds a bit meagre. Is he trading off his national treasure status?

Re: St Barlow a greedy C.NT for tax avoidance.

Interesting contrast between his treatment and what got doled out to Jimmy Carr. Shame 8 out of 10 cats isn't running at the moment. According to the Independent "HM Revenue & Customs is expected to demand tax repayment, meaning Barlow, 43, could owe millions of pounds. Along with Howard Do...
