Re: Dogday Afternoon

Quick review: Lambrini Girls: not very good - Punky, shouty female three piece, campaigning for Trans rights. Buzzcocks: Last time I saw Buzzcocks was the Shelley tribute gig ar the RAH (with guests singing Shelleytracks), they mainly alternated between tracks off their new album and Shelley sung cl...

Re: Albert Hall tickets still available.

Roundhouse holds less than 2000, RAH over 5000, with the band wanting to play shorter tours (with bigger venues) the Roundhouse was too small. Could maybe have gone for Ally Pally, which’ll hold 10000.

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?

Impossible since they all fell out with JJ but (considering the legacy) it would have been great if Hugh, Paul and John E would be involved in some way. Not that I believe it would happen, but I think if Hugh approached JJ about a reunion, he’d go for it (two guitar, three vocalist lineup of Hugh J...

Brix Smith - Valley of the Dolls

I picked this album up on Friday and although only played once so far, it was a very enjoyable, listen. Produced and co-written by Youth, who also provides the bass and some of the Guitars (alongside Brix), and you can hear his influence on some of the tracks. I varied album that at time sounds very...

Re: Favourite album and why

Coup de Grace? Wow a brave choice.Major Kudu. Brave?, maybe different to others but not Brave. I know many dislike CDG but for me out of The Stranglers albums John Ellis played on it’s still my favoured listen. Really? Yes we have different views but it's such a lame album IMHO,the production is th...

Re: New JJ Interview

Or if you want the real link rather than someone's WordPress skin over it https://beat.com.au/jj-burnel-on-the-ever-evolving-grip-of-the-stranglers/ They should let Baz handle the interviews - JJ always steers it towards the "Bad boys of rock" BS Jim Reading it, I think the steering was f...

Re: New Damned Album 2023

I’m still looking forward's to the new Damned album, even though I think Evil Spirits was their worst one yet. New single plus Rockfield Files EP points to maybe a bit more variety, and I’m enjoying Paul’s contributions to Wingmen, which makes me hopeful.
